Last updated: November 13, 2025

This Privacy Policy explains how EvictionTech, Inc. (“EvictionTech,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, discloses, and protects personal information when you use our websites, apps, and related services (collectively, the “Service”). It also explains your privacy rights and choices.

Important role clarification: EvictionTech, Inc. is not a law firm. All legal services are provided exclusively by JZ Law Group, P.C. (“JZ Law Group” or the “Firm”). EvictionTech provides technology, hosting, and support for the platform that JZ Law Group uses to deliver legal services.

By using the Service, you agree to this Privacy Policy.

1) Who we are & scope

  • Company / Controller: EvictionTech, Inc., 10880 Wilshire Blvd #1460, Los Angeles, CA 90024.

  • Law Firm (separate controller): JZ Law Group, P.C., which maintains its own client files and attorney-client communications.

  • This Policy covers EvictionTech’s handling of personal information. JZ Law Group may maintain separate privacy and/or engagement notices governing its legal practice.

2) Definitions (key terms)

  • Account – Your profile to access the Service.

  • Personal Data – Information that identifies or can reasonably identify you.

3) What we collect

We collect information you provide and that we collect automatically:

You provide:

  • Contact info (name, email, phone, address).

  • Case inputs (property, tenant, lease details, payment history, dates, notices).

  • Support messages and preferences.

  • Payment-related details (handled by our processor—see §7).

Automatic collection:

  • Device and log data (IP address, browser, OS, pages viewed, timestamps).

  • Cookies/SDKs for session management, security, analytics, and optional marketing.

Sensitive data: We do not seek to collect sensitive personal information unless required to fulfill your requests (e.g., court-required fields). If provided, we process it only for that purpose.

4) How we use personal data

We use data to:

  • Operate and secure the Service; create documents at your direction; display timelines and status.

  • Provide support; respond to requests.

  • Improve features, quality, and compliance of the platform.

  • Prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents.

  • Facilitate your relationship with JZ Law Group, who performs all legal services.

Legal bases (if applicable in your region, e.g., GDPR): performance of contract, legitimate interests (e.g., security, product improvement), consent (for certain cookies/marketing), and legal obligations.

5) Roles & data sharing (who gets your data and why)

We share personal data only as needed to provide the Service:

  • With JZ Law Group, P.C. (separate controller): to provide legal services you request; the Firm maintains attorney–client records and its own retention/ethics obligations.

  • Processors / Service Providers: hosting, storage, email/SMS, analytics, customer support, logging, error monitoring, and payment processing.

  • Compliance & safety: courts, law enforcement, or regulators when legally required.

  • Business transfers: in a merger, acquisition, or similar transaction, with appropriate protections.

  • With your direction or consent.

We are not a certified lawyer referral service and do not sell or rent your personal information.

6) Cookies & analytics

We use necessary cookies for login, session security, and fraud prevention. With consent (where required), we may use analytics to understand usage and improve performance. You can manage preferences via your browser settings and any in-product cookie controls.

7) Payments

Payments are processed by third-party processors (e.g., Stripe/PayPal). We do not store full payment card numbers. The processor’s privacy policy governs its handling of your payment data.

8) Attorney–client communications & privilege

  • Communications with JZ Law Group through designated attorney channels may be protected by attorney–client privilege, subject to applicable law and the Firm’s engagement terms.

  • Communications solely with EvictionTech (e.g., general support or product feedback) are not legal advice and are not privileged.

9) Data retention

We retain personal data for as long as needed to deliver the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, maintain security/audit logs, and support legitimate business needs. Case artifacts and audit trails may be retained to evidence service, filing, and compliance steps. JZ Law Group maintains its own retention for legal files.

10) Security

We employ administrative, technical, and physical safeguards (encryption in transit, role-based access, least-privilege, logging). No method is 100% secure. If we become aware of a data security incident affecting personal data, we will notify affected users without undue delay and consistent with applicable law.

11) Your privacy rights

Depending on your location (e.g., California CCPA/CPRA), you may have rights to:

  • Know/Access the categories and specific pieces of personal information we collected.

  • Delete personal information (subject to legal exceptions).

  • Correct inaccuracies.

  • Opt out of certain disclosures or targeted advertising (we do not sell personal information).

  • Limit use of sensitive personal information (we use none for inferring characteristics).

To exercise rights, email support@eviction.law. We will verify your request and respond as required by law. You may designate an authorized agent as permitted.

12) International transfers

We host data in the United States. If you access the Service from outside the U.S., your information may be transferred to and processed in the U.S., where laws may differ from those in your jurisdiction.

13) Account Deletion Process

Users may request account deletion at any time through their dashboard or by contacting us directly. When an account deletion request is submitted, the account enters a 60-day deactivation period. During this period:

  • The account is disabled and cannot be used to access services.

  • The user may reactivate the account at any time by signing in again.

  • No new data is processed for the account unless reactivation occurs.

  Permanent Deletion After 60 Days

If the account is not reactivated within 60 days, the account and its associated personal data are permanently deleted. Permanent deletion includes:

  • User profile information (name, email, phone number)

  • Login credentials

  • Client dashboard data

  • Stored preferences

Once permanent deletion occurs, data cannot be restored.

Data That May Be Retained After Account Deletion

To comply with legal, financial, or operational obligations, we may retain specific information even after an account is deleted, including:

  • Payment records and invoices (required by law for tax and accounting)

  • Audit logs, such as service notifications or legally mandated tracking

  • Court-related filings or legal documents when required for compliance

  • Aggregated or anonymized data that cannot identify the user

These retained items are kept only for as long as legally or operationally necessary.

  Reactivation During the 60-Day Period

If a user attempts to create a new account with the same email during the 60-day deactivation window, the original account will be automatically reactivated instead of creating a duplicate account.

14) Children’s privacy

Our Service is not directed to children under 18 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us to delete it.

15) Links to other sites

Our Service may link to third-party sites. Their privacy practices are their own; review their policies.

16) Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. We’ll post the updated version with a new “Last updated” date and, where required, provide additional notice.
